Your EDM Premiere: Supertaste – Neon Prayer

We’ve got a fresh new premiere for you from Brooklyn based super-duo, Supertaste. Consisting of Hundreds Thousands and Slug Father; the duo started making their mark with their debut EP, Breakup Disco, last year. “Neon Prayer” is the second single from their forthcoming album, Super Classic. During quarantine, the duo retreated to the Tennessee mountains to record what would become Super Classic.

“Neon Prayer” is the perfect summer song. It has the vibes that would land it at Coachella, and the synth work evokes both 80s new wave and modern Indie music. There’s also some nice guitar notes accompanying the vocal track. “Neon Prayer” isn’t a song that will light up the dance floor, but it is a vibey, and groovy track. You’ll definitely be dancing and swaying your hips to this one. Supertaste explain the inspiration behind “Neon Prayer” below.

“I remember initially thinking of a Neon Prayer coming from one of those roadside churches with a neon cross – made to entice the sins or needs of any passerby. A neon prayer’s purpose is to hold you over, a temporary fix for when all you can focus on is what’s right in front of you”

I’m more than happy to focus on “Neon Prayer” if this is what’s in front of us. Check out Supertaste’s latest out tomorrow on Casablanca Sunset and presave here.

[Lyrics]

I finally got my head between my shoulders
That balance has been hard to find
They say you’ll understand it when you’re older
But I feel like its about that time
Is it too late now to
show me how
It’s a two way doubt but you’re the one I’ve found
A neon prayer
To light my way
And guide me to
Another day
It’s a one way track only one way back to you
Get a one way back get a one way back to where I want
Cause I got no time cause I
got no time to lose
Spending all night here pull me closer to the one I want
Is it too late now to show me how
It’s a two way doubt but you’re the one I’ve found
A neon prayer
To light my way
A neon prayer
To light my way
A neon prayer
To light my way
And guide me to
Another day
